Dilapidation Survey - Building Condition Report survey

A dilapidation survey is intended to capture a snapshot of a building’s current condition before works commence. Site and project specific areas to be surveyed may include the interior and exterior of the main building, outbuildings, driveways, paths, pavers, boundary walls, and fences. Photographs are taken of all areas inspected and notes are made on the general condition and obvious existing damage. Building surveyors inspect all areas as instructed and document their observations in a photographic format. Measurements are also taken when possible to aid in evaluating future claims for damages. Detailed photographs of the conditions are produced according to the specific project's needs, budget and deadlines, and are retained on file for future reference.

The main purpose of the dilapidation survey report with photographs is to record the original and existing condition of properties around a construction site.
